![]() California State University San Marcos California State University San Marcos seeks a Public Affairs/Communications Specialist II (Marketing & Media Coordinator) for the University Student Union (USU) department. Under the general direction of the USU, Associate Director, the Marketing & Media Coordinator serves a strategic role in developing communications and marketing plans to support the mission of the USU and Campus Recreation (REC). Develops brochures, presentations, and related collateral materials of varying size, scope, and shape. Develops promotional videos for USU and REC for distribution in physical and digital formats. Responsible for development and management of USU and REC websites and social media channels. Coordinates photography efforts, including taking photos as needed, and helping to organize and catalog the USU and REC photo library. Works directly with student assistants and/or interns on related visual communications projects. Serves as a point of contact for USU tenants. Incumbent will ensure that all USU and REC communications and marketing efforts are compliant with campus policies and requirements extended to and integrated with the website, social media platforms, and logo / branding efforts. Develops strong partnerships with Office of Communications and IITS Web Team to support the University's marketing, branding and website strategies. Minimum Qualifications include: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college OR university with a degree in graphic design, graphic communications, publishing/communications, mass media, marketing, OR related fields, OR similar certified coursework in applicable fields of study; OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Three or more years of progressively responsible experience in communications which includes a minimum of two years' experience in design, image editing, and page layout software. Ideal candidates will be able to provide evidence of this experience through demonstration of a portfolio of past work. Valid California driver's license required to drive golf cart.
