Execute NARI’s marketing, public relations and communication programs. Provide communications expertise and service to all NARI departments, chapters and members. Work closely with team members and content providers to promote the NARI brand and improve the integration of NARI’s marketing efforts across all forums. Create content for NARI’s blog and Website and any other online information the association provides.
Major duties & responsibilities
Liaison to the Marketing Committee, the Strategic Planning & Research Committee and Project Management Office
Create and manage Marketing department budgets, including tradeshow, direct mail, marketing materials, etc.
Handle tradeshow activity including staffing
Modify existing logo assets as needed
Responsible for writing and updating the NARI Website and blog content
Responsible for updating and promoting the NARI online store
Responsible for handling or coordinating media relations as necessary and appropriate
Responsible for aggregation of industry articles for weekly e-newsletter
Write and distribute press releases
Responsible for tracking and reporting public relations and social media performance, website metrics
Create public relations campaigns around NARI’s industry and member research studies
Execute social media activities, including posting and moderating NARI’s social media channels and doing interviews for NARI TV channel on YouTube.com
Provide marketing support to all NARI departments
Support local NARI Chapters regarding marketing communications issues
Manage communications and relationships with industry partners for advertising and content opportunities
Guest or ghostwrite material for additional trade/consumer partners
Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism or other directly related field, plus 3-5 years of professional experience in a marketing and communications (or related) role.
Demonstrated experience writing clearly and concisely for print and electronic medium, including promotional copy.
Experience editing and proofreading others’ work and providing feedback to enhance it.
Ability to think strategically and creatively, to implement plans and analyze results.
Ability to be flexible and handle multiple projects simultaneously, working under deadlines with minimal supervision
Ability to provide appropriate leadership within the overall team concept
Ability to effectively communicate with customers and members via phone, e-mail and personal contact, etc. (members, suppliers, in-house departments, etc.)
Must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Photoshop. Desktop publishing, Illustrator and video editing skills a plus
Ability to travel occasionally to represent the association at various industry events and tradeshows
Ability to quickly learn the remodeling industry, understand the association members’ businesses and see where NARI fits into that structure
