Bring along your passion and do your life's best work.(sm) The supervisor leads the overall processes for Stop Loss Marketing. Supervisor will lead the team to successfully produce accurate proposals/renewals/new business implementations for designated Sales Directors/Account Executives and Strategic Account Executives. Coordinate proposal and renewal activities including strategic, competitive proposals, gathering all necessary information, and directing the preparation of supporting documents and analyses. Works closely with sales/account management, stop loss vendors, proposal development, pricing, and other functions to ensure proposals/renewals reflect prospect/customer needs, and appropriate resources and timelines are met. Primary Responsibilities:Coaching employees on fulfillment of their job tasks through active management and observation of the employees' dutiesResponsible for tracking employees' workload and shipping dates as well as ensuring Activity log and ATLAS remains currentParticipates in daily RFP/Renewal assignments and is accountable for the status of the information pertaining to his/her staff's caseloadEscalates needs of the team as appropriate to managementEnsures that all team members have access to appropriate work tools, equipment and access to company systems; Leads and develop staff to perform successfully in a highly matrixed environment.Ability to effectively understand all aspects of complex stop loss RFP's, assess and interpret prospect and customer needs and requirementsIdentifies solutions to non-standard requests and problems, engaging appropriate resources in issue resolution Communicate complex thoughts and ideas—both written and oral—in a clear, concise way that is tailored to the audienceWork in a highly matrixed environment and collaborate with internal partners (networks, BDS, etc.) to reflect one core value story and integrated processListen well and ask pointed questions to gain information or clarify meaning to ensure high-quality workThoroughly understand and use all available sales support tools, including the database, SharePoint sites, marketing collateral and Subject Matter ExpertsAnticipate and understand the unique needs of our sales partners and develop strong working relationshipsMaintain and enhance business skills, including understanding the health care industry, managed care trends, health care reform, etc. and participate in relevant training opportunities to enhance and improve current skill setPrioritize and organize own work to meet deadlines; work is self-directed and not prescribedTrain new employeesComplete Performance Evaluation on direct reportsQuality review of tpaAM entries, RFP/renewal review and process SME for RFP Questionnaire with regard to stop lossMaintains workload as assigned
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience Minimum of five years in health careHas developed strong relationship with, and has the confidence of the sales forceSelf-starter; able to work with minimal guidance; seeking guidance on only the most complex tasksProven ability to think innovatively and creatively and resolve complex issuesStrong computer skills, especially in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and online formatsHighly developed written and oral communication skillsStrong, interpersonal and relationship-building skillsAssertive project management and leadership skills; collaborating with partners to produce high-quality proposals and responsesIntense customer focus and ability to adapt style and approach to customer preferencesStrong focus on consistent process and product quality Flexible and able to cope with changing conditionsCareers at UnitedHealthcare Employer & Individual.
