The Marketing and Communications Manager reports to the Director and is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive strategic plan for marketing and communications within Cranwell International Center (CIC). The position will provide leadership and oversight for all marketing and communications, including but not limited to social media, website, data analysis and visualization, grant writing and editing, graphic design, fundraising proposals, annual reporting, storytelling, and a wide range of other strategic-level marketing and communications efforts.
MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS (75%)
Develop and implement a marketing and communications strategy for CIC programs and initiatives
Develop and implement a brand strategy for all CIC programs
Enhance, manage and maintain the CIC social media accounts and marketing campaigns
Enhance, manage, and maintain the CIC website
Develop and edit graphic designs
Develop and edit publication materials
Identify, write, and post human interest stories (particularly focused on international students)
Create, edit, and post other news stories and notices
Coordinate photo and/or video documentation for CIC events and programs
Develop and produced a CIC newsletter
Develop and produce a comprehensive Annual Report for CIC
Assist the Director with writing and editing grant applications and fundraising proposals
Provide leadership for other strategic communications and marketing needs within CIC
Coordinate communications and marketing activities with CIC senior leadership and other university partners
Facilitate other activities and projects as needed to support CIC’s brand and image
DATA-DRIVEN DECISION MAKING (25%)
Collect and analyze departmental data
Create data visualization
Assist the Director and Associate Director with assessment efforts within CIC
Work collaboratively with various university stakeholders, including but not limited to the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness, the Office of Academic Decision Support, and Student Affairs Assessment and Professional Development
Master’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, English, or public relations or related area.
Professional experience in communications, marketing, print journalism, media relations or other forms of communication.
Track record of creating compelling and impactful digital communications that work across various platforms and can be translated into print.
Demonstrated experience contributing grant writing and editing, and fundraising proposals.
Demonstrated excellence in communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as highly developed presentation skills.
Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and data-driven decision making.
Demonstrated experience in the analysis of data and the development of data visualizations.
Demonstrated graphic design experience.
Demonstrated experience overseeing a professional social media account that promotes engagement.
Highly self-motivated and able to work effectively in a team setting.
Commitment to promoting inclusion and diversity.
Knowledge or experience with Content Management System (CMS) software, specifically Adobe.
Demonstrated experience staging and shooting high-quality photography.
Demonstrated experience shooting and editing video.
Demonstrated experience developing and implementing a brand.
Experience working in higher education.
Experience with study abroad, international affairs, or intercultural work environments.
