The position of Director, Marketing & Fan Engagement will play an active role in the development and implementation of marketing, sales and fan engagement strategies for the Duquesne Athletic Department. Under the direction of the Associate Athletic Director, External Relations this position will be responsible for:
1. Overseeing all promotions, ticket sales and marketing efforts for the women’s basketball team
2. Overseeing the development and implementation of marketing/attendance initiatives to maximize attendance for assigned Olympic sports
3. Assist in the development and maintenance of a marketing communications calendar (e.g. allocation of digital ad inventory, email marketing and newsletter content, radio inventory, etc.)
4. Serve as liaison to assigned spirit groups
5. In conjunction with the Assistant Director, Marketing & Fan Engagement, recruit, train and manage day-to-day responsibilities of student interns.
6. Oversee athletics involvement in key campus events (e.g. Duquesne Fest, Freshman Orientation, Faculty staff orientations, Kick Off to Graduation, etc.)
Primary marketing contact for the women’s basketball team.
-Coordinating single game and season ticket sales efforts with the ticket office
-Building a year-round social media engagement plan for women’s basketball
-Develop, direct and coordinate a comprehensive, in-season marketing plan including theme days
-Responsible for the development of an Education Day marketing plan
-Collaborate with Red & Blue Crew to drive student attendance
-Attend postseason tournaments as the on-site marketing contact
Develop, direct, coordinate and execute marketing/attendance plans for assigned Olympic sports with clearly defined goals and objectives.
-Prepare and coordinate game day promotional activities
-Identify and implement grassroots marketing activities
-Work as a member of the department’s event management team, specifically during men’s basketball – coordinating all facets of the game day production
-Write and develop content for use in email marketing, print, digital and social media platforms
Critically evaluate all in-game marketing and promotional aspects.
Stay up-to-date on marketing trends and technologies.
B. Game Day Experience
Assist in the coordination of game day logistics including scheduling of national anthem performers, color guard, halftime entertainment, public address announcers, and student workers.
Assist in the coordination of assigned spirit groups (band, cheer, dance, student groups and mascots).

Manage day-to-day and game day scheduling of undergraduate intern program.
Manage all internship requests and responsibilities.
Oversee one work study student employee.
Coordinate athletics-related events to increase brand recognition and engagement across campus.
Assist in the hosting of all home events and postseason tournaments (Conference Championships and NCAA Tournaments).
Other duties as assigned by the Associate AD, External Relations.
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, sports marketing or related field
Three years of progressive marketing, promotions and in-game promotion management in collegiate or professional sports
Strong interpersonal, creative and communication skills are essential, including the ability to communicate in writing
Excellent organizational, project management, problem-solving and customer service skills
Demonstrate strong understanding of marketing plans and strategy
Innovative, creative and energetic personality that will recommend and implement new ideas
Willingness to work extended hours beyond the typical business day, nights and weekends throughout the academic year
Ability to communicate and adhere to University, Atlantic 10 Conference and NCAA policies, procedures, rules and regulations
