We are a small trade association based out of Washington DC, seeking a qualified candidate to fill the full-time position of Manager of Marketing and Sales Training. This is an exciting opportunity, with the chance to work directly with stakeholders of the top energy utility and equipment manufacturer companies in North America, providing marketing and sales expertise and support to help them improve their company’s success.
The Manager of Marketing and Sales Training will develop and coordinate programs to train membership in diverse aspects of marketing and sales strategies, business intelligence and market research, sales force management, and customer relationship management. The Manager will provide guidance and coordination for the development of marketing and sales tools and resources for members.
More specifically, the Manager of Marketing and Sales Training will need to perform the following essential tasks:
Train energy utility staff, sales engineers, and contractors in the delivery and implementation of energy efficiency products, equipment, and strategies
Train utility staff, sales engineers, and contractors in business and marketing plan development
Identify opportunities and strategies for membership to increase use and effectiveness of market research
Identify speakers, consultants, and authors that can participate in or lead strategic sales and marketing workshops.
Develop programs to enhance the professional standing of members and enhance the role of marketing within their respective organizations
Requirements & Education
Excellent overall communicator, including written, oral, and interpersonal with proofreading skills
Strong project management and problem-solving skills
Strong customer service orientation
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexibility and creativity
Technologically proficient with a solid understanding of and ability to use appropriate software products, including the Microsoft Office Suite
Available for occasional travel (10%)
5-7 years of marketing and sales experience
Undergraduate degree required in marketing, business, engineering or communications
Graduate degree in business or engineering preferred
Experience with energy utilities and/or commercial and industrial HVAC and related equipment helpful
