Founded in 1892, Stanford University Press publishes 130-140 books a year across the humanities, social sciences, Middle Eastern, Jewish and Latin American Studies, law, business, and economics. Stanford University Press is hiring a Marketing / Publicity Assistant to join our office in Redwood City, CA.
Provide routine administrative or operational support working from detailed instructions.
Answer phones, and serve as a resource on unit procedures and general inquiries from authors or vendors.
Disseminate routine communications such as memos, notices, emails, and letters.
Perform office duties including, but not limited to, handling of incoming and outgoing mail, entering data into basic tables, reports, database, or spreadsheets, and making copies.
May provide guidance to temporary and student employees on routine matters.
Coordinate and communicate with internal and external stakeholders on marketing / publicity efforts.
Ability to prioritize and handle numerous tasks. *- Other duties may also be assigned MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent.
Other Relevant Education May Include: Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Basic computer skills and demonstrated experience with office and database software and email applications.
Ability to follow through and complete assigned tasks.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Other Relevant Knowledge, Skills and Abilities May Include:
Lift/Carry/Push/Pull objects that weigh up to 40 pounds
Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
