To serve as a key contributor to the Communications team within the Strategic Communications Department with a focus on C-suite executive and thought-leadership communications, while also collaborating to advance internal and external communications, media relations, and issues management.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops and executes C-suite executive and thought-leadership strategic communications plans in close partnership with key leaders.
Writes speeches, talking points and presentations for senior executive leaders.
Provides daily communications support for senior executive leaders.
Advises and coaches leaders and spokespersons for interactions with the media and the public.
Protects and enhances brand reputation through effective issues management and crisis communications.
Develops and executes strategic communications plans for Christiana Care Health System.
Cultivates relationships with local, regional and national media to gain earned media opportunities for Christiana Care Health System, in alignment with strategic goals.
Participates in media-on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 responsiveness to strategic communications and media relations needs of the organization.
Writes, edits and produces high-quality content to support diverse communications needs, including owned media and social media channels for consumer and health care industry professional audiences.
Manages a wide variety of projects in support of Christiana Care strategic communications, collaborating with internal and external partners, ensuring quality, timeliness, impact and strategic alignment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 10 years of public relations experience, with a demonstrated ability to write and successfully execute multi-facetted communications and PR plans. Candidates with degree in public relations or communications are preferred.
Experience in supporting C-Suite executives and thought leaders in strategic communications planning and execution.
Experience in writing and editing news and features content, speeches, website and social media content. Fluency with video and multimedia content production preferred.
Experience in media relations.
