PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans, develops, refines and implements targeted marketing initiatives/plans for internal and external delivery such as, but not limited to, community events, publications, event publicity, recruitment, and advertising campaigns; researches relevant issues, solicits input from appropriate sources, conducts analyses, and proposes for implementation various solutions and initiatives designed to achieve targeted marketing objectives and goals (can be external or across the university campuses).
Develops, writes, and produces final product communications and advertisements for internal and external delivery to various departments and/or external segments; develops effective procedures for defining and tracking established and potential markets; coordinates the development and administration of tracking systems; tracks impact to measure and modify.
Participates with Public Affairs in the strategic approach for increasing visibility for faculty research and accomplishments.
Delivers communications and presentations as well as provides training/teaching to various groups and departments ensuring a consistent, effective message, including best approach for communicating message, including research findings to the media.
Working knowledge of website creation and maintenance; coordinating with Public Affairs to create new websites as needed matching the branding and styling guidelines of the university.
Ability to work in multiple settings and communicate effectively across departments and the university campuses regarding projects; must be able to multitask and coordinate projects appropriately.
Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field.
3 plus years of marketing experience.
Advanced degree in communications/journalism and health/science related field preferred.
Experience working in a health, medical, or related field preferred.
Experience in leading communication projects from start to finish preferred.
Demonstrated effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Experience with various electronic and print media delivery.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite tools.
Ability to provide front end web development for content and approach, preferably in WordPress.
Working knowledge of AP style for written communications.
Freedom to act independently and make frequent recommendations for project approval.
Accountable for creative initiatives developed and executed.
The hiring range for this position is $50,294 - $65,374 annually.
