Our Washington DC office currently has an available opening for a Marketing / Office Assistant with a minimum of one (1) year experience. We are a small, progressive design oriented office with locations in Washington DC, Honolulu and Manila. Our projects are a diverse, including: urban design, small scale to medium scale architectural projects, and public infrastructure such as bridges and transit projects, Current projects of note in our office now include urban design and planning of major light-rail or heavy-rail transportation projects as well as their architectural components. Enthusiasm, adaptability and an interest in participating as an integral member of our team effort are prerequisites in order to respond to a range of projects and challenges with fresh insight and innovative solutions
Goal - to develop and implement a Strategic Marketing Plan for established as well as potential market groups
Establish and Pursue Government references (local, state, and federal registers, in particular DBE listings).
Track sources such as Dodge Reports Construction Marketing, Data's (CMD) Early Planning leads, and local construction trade newspapers. Other specific examples are the AIA Website and The Business Commerce Daily.
Develop and organize digital image library of past projects and reference images of relevant projects, details, or technologies.
Develop and organize boilerplate text of the firm's and staff's capabilities as well as cataloguing previous proposals as a reference for future proposals.
Research, organize data, and produce proposals as well as other marketing tools. This will include graphic as well as written presentation material using the resources that have been developed. Examples of products are: specific project proposals for Architecture and Planning projects, Additions to the firm's portfolio, advertising mailers.
The principals and other staff will assist in the design organization, and production of these materials when required.
Perform tasks in order to be published in trade press, newspapers, and other media.
Submit projects for awards.
Organize material and manage the development of the firm's webpage.
Determine beneficial target groups and coordinate advertising as a means of marketing the firm.
Participate in establishing contacts for principals and staff (professional and academic) in design juries, and writing for journals, magazines and books.
Help establish contacts for principals and staff to participate in professional and charitable organizations, lectured and other industry events.
Data Resources - Project Oriented:
Develop and organize data libraries (image and text) as well as conduct research for specific projects, from sources such as the web, published resources, or on site data collection. This will include photo documentation, for example of transit or residential project sites, or collecting product information for particular projects.
Assist in the development and production of Master Plans, reports, or other projects requiring writing skills, data collection and evaluation. Graphic layout skills will also be required in producing these presentations.
The principals and other staff will assist in the design, organization, and production of these materials when required.
Office / Project Administration Assistance
A minimum of time may be required for office administrative support or assisting principals or staff with administrative tasks.
Excellent writing skills - synthesizing information and clearly communicating it.
Experienced in graphic programs and composing documents; Experienced in: current Adobe Creative Suite's InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, PowerPoint, and current Office Word and Excel.
Professionalism and good work ethic.
Excellent communication skills.
This position will require a self-motivated individual with a real interest and passion to be immersed in the architecture and urban design realm. Equally the ability to thrive in a team setting will be key.
Four (4) year college degree preferred in related job description or architecture field.
