• The Assistant Director of Resources Marketing Director reports to the Senior Associate Director of Resources Marketing and works as part of the overall Resources team to oversee and implement the production management of the College’s direct response marketing efforts, using an integrated approach across four key channels (print, web/online/social, email, and phone) in order to increase revenue and participation in key areas, including the Wellesley Fund and reunion giving, planned giving, Friends programs, and the Parents Fund. Supports the Senior Associate Director of Resources Marketing in planning and executing all projects in an accurate, cost-effective, and timely manner. • Develops and coordinates detailed production schedules for mail and email projects. Monitors and tracks projects to ensure their accurate and timely completion. Adheres to budgets and works with project management tools like Asana. • Responsible for maintaining the “master view” of all projects at any point in time. Updates project status report on a weekly basis. Maintains constant communication with the Senior Associate Director regarding project status. • Serves as a point of contact for outside vendors (eg., freelancers, printers, mail houses, etc.) • Prepares print specifications for print bids and quotes. Seeks cost-effective bids, secures estimates, and assigns print vendors to projects. • Oversees the production process from assessment of needs to delivered product. Ensures final design files have been received from printers and are archived on the server, approves printers proofs, etc. • Keeps detailed accounts and provides written documentation from planning sessions and post-project retrospectives. • Production schedules developed are detailed, reasonable, and take into consideration appropriate time for each aspect of the project. This position communicates impact of delays and prompts for deliverables. Projects are kept on schedule, delivered on time, and are accurate. • This person is seen as a go-to as it relates to projects in marketing if the Senior Associate Director is not available – has a deep understanding of the culture at Wellesley, the goals of the programs, details relating to production, and the status of the department’s efforts. • This person is seen as a reliable partner – someone who brings good ideas to the table, and identifies ways to be more efficient and effective.
• Bachelor’s Degree and a valid driver’s license. • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related field preferred. • 2+ years of experience in marketing communications. • Experience with print production, fulfillment, and email marketing. • Ability to work as part of a cross-departmental team is crucial, as is the ability to multitask, prioritize, and work with limited budgets to create effective marketing communications. • Excellent writing and attention to detail. • Superior ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. • Comfortable and conversant with digital and social media, with an understanding of their use in philanthropic marketing, stewardship, and communications. • Great communicator and team player. • A sense of humor and creative spirit preferred.
