A WORD OF CAUTION BEFORE YOU SPEND TIME READING THIS:
If you are merely good, don't waste your time on this ad. "Good" is not good enough here. We don't pay $90K+ a year for good. We pay that for someone exceptional.
Four career-enhancing reasons to work here:
Grow, coach, and lead a sales organization
Lead at the intersection of two hot industries - construction and Software as a Service (SaaS)
Lead a highly regarded sales team within the industry
Earn what you yield
Consistently grow sales annually at 50%+ for at least the next two years, with at least high double-digit growth after that. (We've grown 50%+ four of the last five years without anyone formally leading the sales organization. We know we can't continue this pace of growth without a strong sales leader who can focus on an expanding sales team.)
Achieve that growth profitably, by keeping sales overhead per sale within agreed-upon levels
Coach a team of sales executives, of varying levels of experience and seniority, in qualifying, demoing, and closing sales leads
Consistently improve lead to close conversion rates
Ensure a systematized approach to sales and sales training
Work closely with the VP of Sales and Sr. Manager of Marketing to generate and execute campaigns
Recruit new team members to keep pace with our targets
Develop and measure metrics for improving performance
Create fun, meaningful incentives for reaching goals
Operate and grow the team in a manner consistent with our core values
Actively contribute to planning, troubleshooting, and opportunity identification across the business with cross functional teams
Proactively bring proposals to the VP of Sales, with a plan on how to achieve them and how they align with the company's goals
You like to be able to measure demonstrable success and know what “exceptional” looks like before you take on any responsibility.
You know your numbers and are skilled at using spreadsheets and CRMs to analyze data and spot opportunities.
You have lead an inside sales team to success...
In a company generating revenues in the range of $5-20 million a year
That sells software to small businesses (less than $10 million in annual revenue)
That sells an annualized price in the general range of $1,500 to $8,000
Working within a transactional sales model with a sales cycle ranging from 2 to 20 days
Where technical expertise was important – and not just being a good closer
You and your teams sold via multiple modes of communication, including email, phone, and web conferencing tools.
You have had responsibility for selling to the right kind of customers that keeps post-sale churn within acceptable levels.
You have identified and implemented sales targets and process metrics that have helped to increase sales.
You have recruited new sales team members who were successful in your environment -- defined as making sales within three weeks and reaching quota within three months.
You have developed training for onboarding those new sales team members to hit those goals, on time.
You have used metrics-based coaching for supporting and developing your sales team, resulting in increased sales via improved conversion rates.
You have resolved performance issues with sales people quickly and effectively, including letting people go, when necessary.
You work closely with marketing to create, execute, and measure new campaigns and approaches – without just saying, “that’s marketing’s job to figure out.”
You make clear, concise recommendations for improvement based on the facts.
