The City of Blue Ash Parks & Recreation Department is seeking applicants to fill a Part-Time Permanent position of Marketing & Assistant Events Coordinator within our Recreation Center. The Marketing & Assistant Events Coordinator will assist with onsite event coordination and marketing for the Blue Ash Recreation Center including events and programs. The Marketing & Assistant Events Coordinator must provide outstanding customer service, be enthusiastic, professional, and be able to build relationships with internal and external customers. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
> Manage marketing and media outlets (social media, websites, etc.) for programs and events, in addition to other duties.
> Initiates, coordinates and/or participates in all efforts to publicize event.
> Monitor event timelines and ensure deadlines are met for marketing purposes.
> Assist with serving as a city representative during events.
> Assist with all set up and tear down of events.
> Assist with the event logistics and correspondence.
> Work events/programs including weekends and nights.
> Fluctuating schedule especially during Spring through Fall seasons.
IMPORTANT JOB FUNCTIONS:
> Design and implementation of media outlets
> Aggressively gather information on each project to achieve quality event productions.
> Serve as liaison with vendors on event-related matters.
> Assist with managing on-site production from set-up to tear down for events as necessary.
> Highly organized.
> Excellent communication skills, including writing, proof reading skills, and speaking.
> Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments from a variety of staff and volunteers.
> Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with high professionalism.
> Ability to accomplish projects with little supervision.
> Proficient using the latest versions of Microsoft Software, Photoshop, In-Design, email and web searches.
> Communication and Negotiation Skills: Event coordinators meet with vendors, listening to their needs and presenting ideas and solutions to their requirements. They also work with suppliers, contractors, employees, sponsors and many other parties at the same time. Customer service and interpersonal skills are required.
> Calm Under Pressure and Problem Solving Skills: Many things can go wrong during an event, and something eventually will. Event coordinators need to remain calm during crisis and the high pressure of an event in progress. Being able to quickly solve the issue is required.
> Organization: demonstrate planning and organizational skills. Many things happen all at once at meetings. Event coordinators need to stay focused and organized so that the event goes off without a hitch.
