Provide proactive direction in the development, implementation, and management of advertising and content management initiatives required by the Macon-Bibb County CVB (MBCCVB) to reach its goals and promote tourism for Macon, GA.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Collaborates with department heads to secure advertising, collateral and creative materials, and website and mobile site enhancements, which support the sales and marketing efforts. Negotiates advertising rates and cooperative advertising buys, and implements the media campaigns on behalf of the MBCCVB.*
Develop short and long-term content management strategies with objective of increasing tourism, hotel stays, and attraction visits.*
Manage external vendors such as advertising agencies, photographers, video suppliers, and website vendors to complete projects within set deadlines and budgets.
Develop and manage the annual marketing plan and content, including strategies for advertising, publications, collateral and creative materials, website development and enhancement.*
Implements the assigned programs and projects of the marketing plan, according to the established timelines, goals, standards and expectations of quality, integrity and customer service.*
Use research to evaluate the MBCCVB marketing activities, establish and monitor marketing goals and budget items, and provide recommendation on periodic revisions to the marketing plan, as needed.*
Build and maintain relationships with marketing staff throughout the regional meetings and tourism industry.
Assists the Vice President of Marketing in oversight of Marketing interns.
Maintains accurate project records, statistics, and data on ROI of marketing programs and provides appropriate information for weekly and monthly reports.*
Maintains a cohesive working relationship with all other personnel to ensure a unified and effective promotional effort; provides marketing support for all MBCCVB initiatives and programs.*
Maintains a well-informed working knowledge of the attractions and services available in the area to visitors and acts as a liaison between these entities and the visitor.
Perform any other appropriate duties as assigned by the President & CEO and/or Vice President of Marketing

Experience in graphic design and proficient in Adobe systems
Advanced user knowledge of Simpleview CRM System (or other database management programs) and Microsoft Office, sufficient for performing direct tasks and training others. To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the ability to utilize company phone system.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employee must be able to lift and carry 30 lbs. In addition, this position requires 10% - 20% travel; including overnight stays.
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in marketing, business or tourism/hospitality management. Experience in media buying and marketing preferred
Three to five years’ experience in the tourism industry or convention bureaus
