The Director of Marketing and Admissions envisions recruits, enrolls and retains a student body that enables Summit School to fulfill its mission in the present and future. With the Head of School, this individual develops and executes a strategic vision that meets school-wide admission and enrollment goals, including broad strategy and yearly tactical goals.
The Director of Marketing and Admissions:
Develops and executes a strategic marketing plan aligned with schoolwide goals
With Marketing Coordinator, plans, implements and enhances all internal and external school marketing efforts to retain current families and recruit qualified new students
Develops new programs and initiatives to attract and retain qualified students
Activates the school community—staff, faculty, students, parents and alumni-- in support of the marketing, admission and enrollment process and their roles within it
Oversees school branding and serves as the key “brand ambassador,” as well as trains school staff and volunteers on clear, consistent messaging about the school’s mission and programs
Presents the school to prospective students and parents, including tours, open houses, shadow days, parent presentations and other events
Designs, implements, and oversees all aspects of the enrollment process for new students, and facilitates their entry into the Summit community
Organizes, assigns and prepares faculty and staff members to assume various roles and shared responsibilities in the admissions and retention processes
Coordinates Back to School Night, Curriculum Night and Middle School presentations
Manages the re-enrollment process for current families
Provides robust data and metrics for school leadership review in support of enrollment targets
Collaborates with the Financial Aid Committee to develop and support tuition assistance policies in support of enrollment goals
With Middle School Coordinator, facilitates transition of eighth graders to high school
Oversees Private School Tax Credit program and promotes the collection of school tax credit funds and school corporate tax credit funds for school financial aid, as well as assisting parents in utilizing the tax credit towards their tuition
Supervises the part-time Marketing Coordinator
Continually evaluates and improves all aspects of marketing and admissions program with the goals of reaching capacity enrollment of qualified students with a wait list of qualified applicants
Serves as a member of the Administrative Team and consults with the Head of School on all aspects of school life and improvement
The ideal candidate:
Aligns with Summit School of Ahwatukee’ s mission, vision and values
Has 3-5 years marketing or admissions experience at an independent private school in a competitive urban market
Possesses exceptional interpersonal skills, as well as verbal and written communication skills
Understands the educational landscape of the Phoenix metropolitan area, Summit School’s unique value proposition, and can speak authentically and compellingly to diverse internal and external audiences
Has demonstrable experience with innovation, collaboration, and organizational improvement
Shows drive, initiative and commitment to moving Summit School forward
Experience in working with a school information and enrollment management system.
