Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Director, IT Communications & Marketing for Office of Information Technology. The Director of Communications and Marketing provides overall leadership and direction for internal and external communications across IT units that directly and indirectly report to the SVP/CIO, and includes a dotted line reporting relationship with the Vice President for University Relations. This position designs, plans, implements and executes a strategic communications plan addressing the needs of the Chief Information Officer, Executive OIT Leadership Team, and other distributed campus information technology groups. Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Develops, manages, and leverages processes, relationships, and interactions between various campus information technology groups to manage crisis situations and improve the visibility of technology projects and services on campus through marketing communications and other outreach activities.
Establishes, owns and drives a strategic internal and external communications and marketing strategy that positively affects employees' and customers' understanding, engagement and commitment.
Ensures new communication campaigns and programs are aimed at informing and educating campus constituents of IT's services, goals and projects.
Manages brand delivery and consistency.
Acts as the communications lead for major initiatives and projects by serving on project teams and being an embedded participant in major initiatives.
Leads and coordinates the effective delivery of internal OIT communications.
Works in close collaboration with OIT, the SVP/CIO and IT colleagues across campus to promote IT programs to the University community and public.
Works with OIT management to define meaningful, longitudinal metrics and/or produce effective data visualizations that help communicate the OIT story.
Oversees the design and production of SVP/CIO and OIT communications, ensuring that all content and materials produced are consistent with the University brand and its editorial and graphic design standards, with a high degree of quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
Manages the content on the SVP/CIO and OIT websites.
Assists colleagues in developing and implementing effective communications.

Must be a strong communicator, have excellent written, presentation, oral communications and interpersonal skills.
