Innovative, dynamic, professional nursing membership association is currently seeking a Membership Marketing Manager. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the association’s member retention, engagement and acquisition efforts by providing essential direction for and implementation of membership promotions and communication efforts. Individual will work in conjunction with membership and marketing department staff in growing membership and identifying areas and mechanism to do so. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 to 5 years of related experience working in a marketing and membership environment preferably at an individual membership association.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Success in this position depends on the ability to improve membership retention and acquisition, be a creative thinker, willing to take risks and think in non-traditional ways about membership acquisition and retention. In addition will be responsible for the following:
Develop and implement member marketing plan.
Collaborate with membership and marketing department staff to conduct marketing research related to membership in order to identify opportunities in the market and/or weaknesses in association’s messaging, value proposition and brand.
Plan, develop and deploy membership acquisition and retention activities and promotional efforts tandem with promotion of products, events and other association resources and services.
Manage the member recruitment and retention program, including creating resources for use by recruiters to make their efforts more successful.
Develop and manage lapsed member marketing program in conjunction with appropriate membership department staff and the Director of Marketing and Social Media.
Responsible for supporting staff or volunteers exhibiting at designated events and when necessary, staffing the booth.
Support sections and chapters in their efforts to recruit and retain members.
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or equivalent.
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work with a wide variety of individuals.
Ability to handle multiple projects and work independently.
Detail-oriented, with strong organizational, analytical and planning skills.
Strong self-motivation and the ability to work in a team environment.
Must be comfortable with website editing program and creating and posting content on websites.
Outstanding writing skills a must.
Advanced computer skills to include Microsoft Office software, knowledge of HTML and basics of Photoshop helpful.
