The Council for Interior Design Qualification (CIDQ) is seeking a Part time Marketing and Communications Manager to increase its organizational visibility, and promote awareness and participation of the CIDQ’s professional examination and certification process among its various target audiences. Executing the strategies of CIDQ’s existing communications plan, this individual will build upon those efforts to produce measurable gains in engagement with identified stakeholder groups.
Primary responsibilities include:
Social Media:Managing the organization’s presence across all relevant social media channels; connecting with our target audience(s) and defining our desired “voice” and message for each medium.
Website: In conjunction with the Sr. Director of Business Operations, monitoring, editing and updating the CIDQ website content and presentation. Working proactively with staff to ensure that information is accurate and regularly updated.
Communications Materials:Designing (or overseeing vendor to design), updating and maintaining online and print marketing material.
Award: Managing annual award nominations.
NOTES: This opening is currently a part-time, 20 – 25 hour per week position, working in the Alexandria VA office. This is not a telecommute or remote position. Knowledge, Skills and Requirements:
Relevant Bachelor’s degree required;
5+ years’ experience, preferably in a non-profit environment
Experience working in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Adobe Acrobat Pro, video editing software and website content management systems.
Familiar with SEO and Google Analytics including ability to set goals, interpret metrics, and implement projects that will improve online performance and visibility is a plus.
Excellent writing, editing and grammatical skills required.
Must demonstrate initiative, be highly organized, able to manage multiple projects while prioritizing work assignments.
Must have excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
The Council for Interior Design Qualification (CIDQ) is the premiere certifying organization for interior design professionals. From its office next to the King Street Metro in Old Town Alexandria, CIDQ’s six person staff, in coordination with volunteers and professional testing consultants, develops and administers the three-part NCIDQ Examination, which tests interior designers’ knowledge of co...re competencies required for professional practice in the industry.
