Reporting to the Associate Director / Team Lead of the Rice Annual Fund Direct Marketing team, the Assistant Director, Direct Marketing (Rice Annual Fund), manages the strategic direction, execution, and ongoing maintenance of Rice's Telefund program; oversees email and mail execution associated with the Telefund program; and assists in new marketing assignments and channels as needed. The Rice Annual Fund's goals for the next fiscal year are to reach 36% giving participation among undergraduate alumni and raise $8.5 million for the Rice Annual Fund. The Assistant Director, Direct Marketing, is integrally involved in meeting these goals, both by managing the Telefund program and by playing a key role in other marketing efforts as needed. The primary purpose of the Telefund program is to increase the number of donors and dollars for current use funds, which is achieved by recruiting, hiring, training, and motivating a staff of up to 30 paid student callers to call alumni and parents and ask them to make a donation. The Assistant Director, Direct Marketing, must have the ability to direct students and colleagues in an organized way to carry out the multitude of background details essential in an annual giving campaign.
