Overview: Work directly as a functioning member of a marketing team that operates like an in-house ad agency. As an intern, you will gain understanding of how a marketing department operates at a large national, publically-traded education services company. Our intern programs are on a 12-week cycle, where you’ll work within an open, collaborative environment. Our flexible hours allow you to gain experience while you succeed at your educational responsibilities. You will be in a fun work environment, learning about marketing and advertising from a diverse team of 30+. You will also gain a deep insight on a holding company with a house of brands structure.
To provide support for graphic design, print advertising, collateral material, logo development, typography and illustrations under immediate supervision.
Responsibilities: 1.Learn about Nelnet’s business, product/service offering, markets and competition. 2.Attend team and/or stakeholder meetings as determined appropriate by supervisor. 3.Interacts with graphic designers and senior graphic designers on projects. 4.Designs and produces layouts for material in a variety of formats. 5.Assists the designers in all facets of project development 6.Ensures designs meet brand’s personality and corporate standards. 7.Performs some production art such as color printing, trimming, collating, etc. 8.Some clerical duties
EDUCATION: Must be a junior or senior with minimum one to two years in marketing or advertising field of study, or equivalent experience.
EXPERIENCE: Prior internships ideal
COMPETENCIES – SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES: 1.Working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator at a minimum) 2.Detail-oriented 3.Good at building team relationships 4.Organized 5.Able to deliver projects on time 6.Good at multi-tasking 7.Quick to learn and work independently 8.Good oral and written communication 9.Ability to follow directions 10.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 11.Research ability online and offline
