This time limited internship position will assist in all aspects of marketing and promoting NC State University’s NCAA Division I 23-sport athletics program. The candidate will serve as the primary marketing contact for assigned sports and secondary contact for additional sports.
This position is responsible for developing marketing, ticketing, advertising, social media and promotional plans for designated sports and managing the individual sports budgets; works with the Creative Services team on cohesive branding and creative for marketing materials; works with Video and Broadcast Services to create in-game and advertising video elements. Assists with implementing social media strategies, campaigns and presence in social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social applications as needed. This position will be responsible to work and lead gameday production for various sports. Works directly with a number of departments, including the coaching staffs for developing marketing plans and campaigns. This position will also be required to recruit and manage game day student staff. This position is an opportunity to continue to gain exposure to all facets of collegiate athletic administration (i.e. compliance, facilities, event management, game operations, Wolfpack Club).
Required: Bachelor’s degree in related field.
The ability to work a non-standard work week including nights, weekends & holidays.
A highly motivated, goal & team oriented individual looking for career experience in college athletics; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; computer skills and knowledge.
Preferred skills: Prior athletic marketing experience, Adobe Creative Suite skills, audio/video-editing skills, social media and public relations experience preferred.
