The qualified candidate will be challenged to perform at a high level, which will prepare the selected candidate for professional employment in the collegiate athletics marketing field. The Marketing and Fan Engagement Assistant will assist in all daily operations of the Office of Athletics Marketing and Fan Engagement and will serve as primary contact for 2-4 sports (possibilities include soccer, lacrosse, and volleyball among others). Duties include, but are not limited to: creation of sport-program marketing plans, execution of gameday promotions, social media updates/initiatives, community engagement and oversight of the official Marquette Athletics Kid’s Club, sponsorship activation, supervision and scheduling of all student workers and gameday promo team. Chosen candidate will be involved with the game presentation of men’s and women’s basketball games and could serve as the game producer for women’s basketball games.
1. Create and implement marketing plans, sales plans and oversight of budget management for assigned sports. 2. Manage all aspects of Marquette Kids Club. 3. Book and serve as gameday liaison for halftime groups and National Anthem singers/ROTC, performers used for men’s and women’s basketball games. 4. Assist with the planning and implementation of game promotions and special events at men’s and women’s basketball games. 5. Manage all student workers. 6. Create promotional signs, graphics and social media messages for assigned sports. 7. Draft and distribute email newsletter for assigned sports. 8. Primary contact for all on-campus student marketing initiatives. 9. Assist with creation and execution of marketing plans geared specifically towards students through social media and other efforts. 10. Serve as the primary contact for donation requests. 11. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.
Bachelor’s Degree required. Experience with computers required. Strong communications skills required. Some experience within college athletics is preferred. Experience with Adobe Illustrator and/or Photoshop preferred.
