The Marketing Project Manager will work with multiple clients, checking in with them weekly on their active projects and probing for open issues and opportunities that need to be addressed. This position must excel in communicating by phone and email. Furthermore, he/she should be able to organize and run meetings and track the resulting decisions and details through delivery.
This position will oversee the following types of projects: brand, web, print, online and traditional marketing. Some projects are one-off deliverables, and others are part of the larger, ongoing Carolina Union strategic plan.
Present a positive and energetic reflection of the Carolina Union culture;
Maintaining the office email account, front office and educate clients on the creative process.
Break down approved projects into production schedules;
Organize milestones in the project management system and assign deliverables to creative team members;
Coordinate resource allocation with other departments, vendors.
Develop purchase orders/vendor requests;
Track projects from client requests through invoicing utilizing the Project Management software;
Initiating project billing and follow-up as needed to collect payments.
Hire, train, evaluate and supervise 2-3 Special Projects Assistants;
Lead student staff to assist in providing Communications & Creative Services (CCS) to all University clients.
OTHERDUTIES AS ASSIGNED:
Occasional participation in CCS Events;
Occasional participation in Union promotional events;
Serve on coordination committees.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Ability to multi-task and handle numerous projects in a fast-paced environment;
Excellent writing capability in regards to creating original material and pertaining to research writing;
Very well organized with the ability to set internal goals to meet deadlines;
Ability to learn and work in project management software;
Constantly striving for superior quality in all aspects of work;
Works well in team situations and as an individual;
Must be able to supervise student employees.
Bachelor's Degree in marketing, business, or communications;
College Union or University experience preferred.
