Scientific Writer/Technology Marketing Associate SVC Research-RC - United States-Pennsylvania - (19001252) The Scientific Writer/Technology Marketing Associate is responsible for developing and preparing marketing content and marketing materials for new technologies and programs developed at the University. The position will coordinate with licensing and commercialization staff, as well as faculty and key stakeholders to ensure a consistent approach to marketing and implementation of marketing strategies. The position will assist in marketing planning for the University's IP portfolio and educational programming. In support of this effort, the position will oversee and provide guidance to marketing and science writing interns. The individual will also be responsible for developing content for the office website, social media, and special projects as needed, including assisting with editing office publications. The position will support business development efforts to identify potential licensees and create content to support such interactions.
This position requires a bachelor's degree in a technical field (life sciences, chemistry, and/or engineering), journalism, English, or communications; Master's degree or advanced degree is desirable. At least three years' proven writing experience in a technical field is needed; familiarity/experience with biotechnology and/or engineering is essential. Candidate must demonstrate an understanding and familiarity with life sciences and/or physical sciences and be able to write scientific texts and documents. Must demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a team environment and work on multiple projects simultaneously are essential. Experience in social media, electronic media, and web-based communications is a plus.
