Senior Marketing Communications Strategist - Mountaineer Parents Club 11013
The Mountaineer Parents Club (MPC) at West Virginia University is seeking applications for a Senior Marketing and Communications Specialist. The Senior Marketing Communications Strategist is a collaborative and creative innovator who has a record of success in developing and implementing integrated and multi-platform communications that uniquely position and elevate MPC in the marketplace. This position works closely with the Director of MPC to determine marketing/communication goals and priorities, develop and execute tactics to achieve those goals, and implement metrics to determine growth and/or opportunities.
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
Work with leadership of the University and MPC to develop a marketing and communications plan to support the institution's stated goals and priorities for MPC.
Develop marketing goals and communication tactics specific to programs and projects for MPC.
Assist in managing the workload that includes graphic design, copywriting and editing, web development and strategic support, video production, media relations and social media consultation.
Utilize market research, focus groups, and key stakeholder surveys, participate in university-wide market research efforts, as well as segment-specific research efforts, to guide the strategic direction and development of marketing/communications plans for parent engagement.
Facilitate communication between MPC and its various external and internal constituents. Propose creative ways to reach constituents.
Develop and implement workshop and training sessions for parents, including online and in-person platforms.
Bachelor's in communications, marketing, integrated marketing communications, public relations or journalism is required.
Seven (7) years of relevant experience.
Advanced strategic thinking and planning.
Advanced oral and written communication skills.
Advanced problem-solving skills.
