This position fills an important role in the Department of Communications, serving primarily as the Marketing Manager for the select practices of the Stony Brook Clinical Practice Management Plan, Inc. With select practices, this position interacts closely with the practice administrators and others, to understand their business goals and objectives, and develop and execute a marketing plan utilizing the most effective internal and external resources.
Responsibilites include, but are not limited to:
Serves as "Marketing Manager" for promotion of Advanced Specialty Care (ASC) and select practices of the Stony Brook Clinical Practice Management Plan, Inc. (CPMP) that require external marketing as identified in Stony Brook Medicine strategic priorities and plans. Strategizes and works closely with the practice administrators and others within each practice, as well as the Sr. Director of Communications and members of the Communications team to understand business objectives, then create and implement marketing plans.
-Supports in the development of marketing content/materials to accomplish goals. Determines
effective methods of communication (online and traditional mediums) and creates on-target
messaging. Ensures accuracy and timeliness of messaging.
-Posts new content onto websites. Obtains photos or arranges photo shoots as needed.
-Assists with coordination of all people involved in materials, including designers, production
staff and customers, as well as external vendors, including writers, designers, videographers and
-Makes revisions to InDesign files and uses TruEdit system to transfer files; makes
PDFs and pulls files from archives via server; uploads and downloads files from FTP sites;
creates Excel spreadsheets; creates and updates PowerPoint presentations, utilizes
Filemaker Pro to create job requisitions; accesses photos for Communications from electronic
- Works with IT team to make significant changes to ASC and select CPMP websites that require
external marketing as identified in Stony Brook Medicine strategic priorities and plans;
improves functionality; promotes upcoming events and lectures in appropriate areas of the
-Works with Media Relations team, Social Media team and others as appropriate to
amplify marketing through integrated marketing strategies.
-Responsible for creation of annual physician referral guide and other materials that represents all
-Bachelor's Degree with concentration in marketing, journalism or communications;
-Five years experience in healthcare, agency or corporate setting;
-Five years experience as a writer/editor for varied types of marketing communications.
Search Committee will begin reviewing applications on 4/2/19 and continue until position is filled.
