Maryvale Preparatory School, a Catholic college preparatory school for young women in grades six through 12, is seeking a Director of Strategic Marketing and Communications. The ideal candidate should have seven to 10 years of experience in marketing, communications or a related field and possess the high-level skills to advance the following priorities: plan and execute programs that enhance the visibility and public perception of Maryvale; organize and execute marketing and communications initiatives that support the school, Admissions and Development objectives of Maryvale; ensure clear and transparent communication between and among all constituencies; and define messaging and branding, including signature programs. The ideal candidate should be a highly motivated, self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment as well as the ability to successfully pass a criminal background check.
Develop and implement annual marketing and communications plan.
Submit and manage budget to support annual plan.
Review and oversee the production of all school publications and communications, including print, video, electronic, etc.
Manage, contribute to, and maintain all content posted on the school website and the school’s social media platforms.
Produce and distribute weekly electronic newsletter for current parent body and monthly electronic newsletter for alumnae.
Assist in creation and distribution of email blasts for Admissions, Development and Alumnae Relations.
Manage communications from President and Assistant Head of School for Advancement, as requested.
Manage media relations, including writing and distributing press releases, placing stories and cultivating positive relations with local media.
Manage all advertising initiatives for the school.
Assist the Administration with issues of crisis management and communication.
Oversee design and installation of permanent and promotional signage on campus.
Manage photography for all on- and off-site school events.
Collaborate with Admissions, Development and Academic Heads on production of all written and emailed materials.
Review and make recommendations regarding data collection, email management and contact upgrades.
Manage school’s relationships with outside website vendor, photographers, graphic designers and printing firms.
Conduct demographic and market research as needed.
Maintain common editorial and graphic standards across school publications for branding reputation and integrity.
Perform other duties as deemed necessary.
The ideal candidate will possess:
Seven to 10 years of relevant experience in marketing, communications or related field
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Capability of balancing multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Strong editing skills
Experience with a website content management system; Knowledge of Finalsite is a plus.
Experience managing multiple social media platforms in a professional setting
Experience in an independent school setting is a plus.
A willingness to work collaboratively with administration, faculty, students, parents and alumnae
