To advance the mission and values of the OU Athletics Department by overseeing the marketing efforts of Men’s Basketball. This position will also oversee Women’s Gymnastics OR the coordination, planning and execution of the community relations/mobile marketing efforts. Additionally, the individual in this position will oversee Graduate Assistants and/or Interns with the planning and execution of marketing select sports for the Oklahoma Athletics Department.
Required Education: Bachelor Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience,
18-36 months experience related to Marketing fields, Community Relations, Non-profits
Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information
Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
Strong initiative to solve problems
Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives
Able to communicate and interact effectively, positively, respectfully and appropriately with diverse populations in the Department, the University, and the community
Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, fans, staff, community organizations and other key stakeholders
Able to gain and maintain working knowledge of university, Big 12, and NCAA rules and regulations
Must be able to supervise staff and communicate directions and expectations effectively
Must have strong ability to lead project teams
Drivers license to operate Community Relations vehicle
Advertised Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand, engage in repetitive motions, walk, communicate, hear and see, including color, depth perception and clarity.
Marketing background in a division 1 athletics department with experience in game production, ticket sales campaigns and fan experience improvement effort.
High ability and comfort level with public speaking and/or speaking in front of large crowds during community appearances and school assemblies.
Experience in working with the public-school systems, collegiate student-athletes and other non-profit organizations.
