The Assistant Director, Digital Marketing & Recruitment will be responsible for developing digital marketing and recruitment content for NYU Wagner’s degree programs. The role will be responsible for: a) writing, creating, and publishing marketing content across multiple digital platforms, including web, email, social media, and multimedia channels; b) managing a content and editorial calendar of marketing and communications efforts; c) developing and maintaining metrics to measure the success of marketing and recruitment efforts; and d) ensuring adherence to the school’s overall brand and marketing strategies; e) managing student workers and collaborating with NYU Wagner staff, faculty, and external vendors.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of experience and education
Preferred Education: Master's Degree in Public Affairs, Communications, Marketing, Design, Public Relations, or related field is preferred.
Required Experience: 4-5 years of experience working in public relations, marketing, communications, journalism, digital media, or equivalent combination. Experience in a fast paced, professional environment. Must include experience in creating, managing, and analyzing the performance of digital marketing strategies including advertising, email, web, blogs, social media, multimedia content, and other online platforms. Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment. Excellent verbal and written communication, project planning, and editorial judgement. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and collaboratively across organizational lines.
Preferred Experience: Related experience at a college, university, or nonprofit organization is preferred.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Outstanding written and oral communication skills including experience in writing, editing, and proofing content. Strong project planning and editorial judgement. Experience creating/coding custom templates, managing email campaigns and maintaining list health. Knowledge of digital marketing and experience using multiple forms of new media and technologies. Knowledge of online marketing and recruitment process, including basic knowledge of HTML and web content management systems. Knowledge of digital marketing reporting and diagnostic tools, including Google Analytics, Google AdWords, etc. and have an understanding of SEO strategies. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with strong Excel skills. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and excellent understanding of Photoshop. Knowledge of social platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. Ability to handle situations independently within the scope of the position.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Proficiency in video, audio, digital photograph processes, and editing software. Proficiency in Google Analytics. Graphic design skills a plus.
