The American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians (ACOEP) seeks a Membership Manager to join our team, headquartered in Chicago, IL. This position will work in our office, with flexibility to work remotely. You will work towards retaining and acquiring members, creating value by delivering dedicated customer service, meticulous database and financial management, strategy and thought leadership, and advocacy for the profession. This self-starter will work with the communications and marketing team to spearhead targeted, innovative campaigns to attract new members and retain ACOEP’s current membership.
The membership manager oversees membership acquisitions, as well as automated engagement and retention campaigns. Reports to Senior Manager, Programs and Engagement.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following, and other duties that may be assigned:
50% Membership Marketing, Acquisition, and Retention
Helps plan, develop, and execute membership acquisition, win-back, retention, and renewal campaigns.
Oversees and updates automated renewal and welcome campaigns to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Oversees Sr. Coordinator for Resident and Student Organization (RSO) and collaborates on segment growth and strategy.
Helps create, budget, and plan membership promotions and campaigns.
Evaluates lapsed members to determine cause and mitigation.
Reviews and evaluates membership marketing activities with Marketing Team. Assists in member-related marketing department initiatives as required.
25% Member Services, Benefits, & Programs
Builds a culture of service within ACOEP, responds in a timely manner to all customer service inquiries.
Manages dues generation/timely invoicing of all members (digital and print, when applicable).
Maintains, develops, and administers membership service and incentive programs, including member benefit and discount programs.
In collaboration with Sr. Manager of Programming, facilitates joint memberships with other associations and groups and communicates opportunity and value within ACOEP’s committees.
Main point of contact for ACOEP’s Career Center.
25%Database Management & Reporting
Resource and organization “expert” in development of standard and customized database reports
Responsible for membership record maintenance and database updates, implement best practices in database usage and data auditing.
Creates and maintains required assets in membership software to enhance development of the association database.
Helps pull and evaluate monthly membership reports and analyze trends in data.
Experience with “Membersuite” association membership software, or comparable AMS.
Experience working remotely, within a small team environment wearing multiple hats.
Healthcare association management experience a plus.

Education/Experience: BA/BS Degree and at least 3-5 years association experience with strong membership marketing and association management skills.
Experience with membership software or comparable software preferred.
Experience with email marketing automation is desired.
Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written skills necessary. Ability to communicate with individuals at many different levels. Strong customer service skills. Strong interpersonal, organizational, time management and telephone skills.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to develop and manage budgets. Ability to compute statistical data. Advanced Excel skills preferred.
