Executive Education is a highly successful and growing unit within the GSB. It is responsible for the development and management of all the school's non-degree program offerings and has grown approximately 100% in revenue over the last 5 years. The mission of our organization is to use GSB faculty ideas to inspire global leaders to change their thinking and drive positive impact throughout their organizations. Exec Ed also provides an ideal vehicle for the GSB to experiment with innovation in both content and pedagogy.
The Director of Marketing will oversee the development and implementation of the marketing strategy and tactics required to fill the available seats in the GSB portfolio of open enrollment programs. This portfolio includes the Stanford Executive Program (SEP), the LEAD online program, and 35 other open enrollment offerings. To achieve this, the Director will manage a team of marketing professionals, several external agency relationships, and a media budget of several million dollars. The Director will also collaborate closely with our Operations team to develop the business processes and the underlying technology infrastructure necessary to support these efforts. Your primary responsibilities include:
Develop and implement marketing strategies and tactics to support our $50M open enrollment and online program business
Maintain responsibility for department operations, including the recruitment, management, development, and retention of the Exec Ed marketing staff
Set and manage department budget and goals, including media expenditures and appropriate marketing channels
Select and manage multiple external agency vendors necessary to support our marketing activities
Collaborate with Exec Ed Operations team regarding digital advertising and e-mail marketing business operations
Collaborate with Exec Ed Operations team to define, develop, and publish full-cycle marketing analytics necessary to optimize our results
Collaborate with GSB Marketing and Communications team on the ongoing development of the website and branding for Exec Ed
Oversee the development of the strategy and tactics to fully leverage Marketing Cloud for marketing automation
Be flexible to completing any other additional assigned duties.
To be successful in this position, you will bring:
Bachelor's degree and ten years of relevant experience; or a combination of education and relevant experience.
Proven ability to achieve an organization's vision, values and programs through marketing initiatives.
Demonstrated experience leveraging integrated marketing strategies to achieve goals.
Strong marketing management skills and the ability to persuade and influence decision-makers across all levels of an organization.
Exceptional strategic thinking and leadership skills.
Proven people manager, with the ability to motivate, grow and train staff across functions.
Prior experience in planning and managing department budget.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated experience presenting to senior managers.
