Reporting to the Director, Website and Content Strategy, Open Campus Marketing, the Manager of Marketing Content will leverage strong communication skills and experience developing engaging content for a range of platforms and channels to support Open Campus strategic objectives. As brand advocate for The New School and Open Campus, s/he will drive awareness and enrollment of students in continuing, professional and pre-college programs, collaborating with teams and stakeholders throughout the university as well as with external vendors and partners.
The role requires a strategic and creative thinker with exceptional writing and editing skills, experience in brand and direct response marketing, website content management, and knowledge of the digital marketing ecosystem, preferably with experience in higher education. The ideal candidate has the capacity to meet the demands of a large, urban institution, and the energy to match The New School's spirit of creativity, innovation, and engagement.
General: ●Support the Director, Website and Content Strategy, Open Campus Marketing in the development of editorial calendars for multiple platforms, in alignment with Continuing Education and Pre-College registration cycles ●Write and edit content for a range of media and platforms ●Coordinate content production with internal and external resources: graphic designers, copywriters, photographers, videographers, etc. ●Manage production budgets and timelines
Digital: ●Ideate and produce posts for social channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn), articles for blog, and email content ●Ideate and produce industry snapshots, micro-courses, and thought pieces to be leveraged in sponsored advertising as well as on Open Campus channels ●Produce content for third-party media such as dedicated emails and sponsored advertising (various channels) ●Implement SEO best practices in content creation ●Track KPIS and analyze content performance against marketing goals to help inform and optimize content strategy ●Report on social media engagement and website metrics; monitor competition
Website: ●Manage Open Campus content on the Open Campus website and relevant pages of the main university website (newschool.edu) ●Execute seasonal and ad hoc updates via the CMS to facilitate on-site registration ●Produce and coordinate content development for website development projects
Email: ●Produce email content calendar as part of overall content plan in collaboration with marketing team ●Develop content for Open Campus email and partner email opportunities ●Work with Open Campus marketing team on strategic testing opportunities in the email channel ●Assist with email templating in the transition to a new CRM system
Print Collateral: ●Collect, edit, and format content for delivery to creative team ●Route content to internal and external partners for review and approval ●Proof and approve all print collateral, ensuring accuracy
Other duties as needed
●Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing or related field ●Minimum 4 years' experience in marketing, communications and/or digital media role (arts, culture or educational context desirable) ●Experience with social media management software (Hubspot, Hootsuite, etc.) ●Experience with email Marketing platforms (Mailchimp is preferred, but not required) ●Excellent writing and communication skills ●Exceptional time management skills and deadline-driven ●Stellar organizational skills ●Exceptionally strong attention to detail ●Entrepreneurial and comfortable being self-directed ●Team player ●Appreciation for arts, culture and higher learning ●Strong interpersonal skills
●Experience with CRM/ Marketing Automation platforms ●Working knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets; familiarity with Google Suite ●Experience using Adobe Creative Suite applications, such as Photoshop and Illustrator
